Ramos wishes Salah a 'rapid recovery'

Liverpool lost top scorer Mo Salah to a shoulder injury before the break, following a tussle with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

Ramos sent out a tweet after the match wishing Salah speedy recovery.

"With great sadness, sadly our great Arab star Mohamed Salah was confirmed in his absence [of] two months to injury, which means that he will miss the World Cup", he said.

Salah has helped propel Egypt to their first World Cup since 1990.

Salah was pictured with his shoulder in a sling when he got off Liverpool's plane at John Lennon Airport on Sunday.

"It was a very tough night, but I'm a fighter", he said on Instagram.

Ramos, who was slammed for the tackle, went on Twitter after the game, writing he hoped Salah could make a quick return.

"In the next few days I will give an answer".

Egypt's team doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela said in a statement that, according to information from Liverpool's medical staff, Salah has sustained only ligament damage.

"He has done unbelievable this season and for it to end that way for him was devastating".

"I've already bet with him".

"Yes of course I'm proud of what we achieved, of how we came to the final, but if you come to the final you want to win it and the farther you come in the tournament the bigger the disappointment will be - especially in the final, if you lose it the disappointment is really big", the Netherlands worldwide said.
