Police received a tip Saturday in "reference to Mr. Jones", Slavin said.

Police believe the person who killed Pitt went on to shoot and kill three other people-a coach and two paralegals-within the same week.

TMZ reports that the assumed gunman, Dwight Lamon Jones, was found dead when police swarmed his Scottsdale, Arizona hotel room on Monday morning.

Scottsdale police responded to a call of a shooting around 2:15 p.m. Friday in the area of First and 75th streets, where they found 48-year-old Veleria Sharp with an apparent gunshot wound. Police reportedly gassed the room and then sent in a robot equipped with a streaming video camera.

A SWAT team entered Jones' hotel room after evacuating surroundings rooms and found Jones dead. Jones' ex-wife had been represented by Elizabeth Feldman, a law firm partner, during the divorce, Slavin said. She said she has feared for her safety for the past nine years. "I can not express the emotions I feel for the innocent families touched by this".

Connie Jones said she contacted the Scottsdale police Sunday morning. When the couple didn't answer, officers put a ladder up to the window and noticed a man shot in the head upstairs, Slavin said.

Sgt. Ben Hoster, a spokesman for the Scottsdale Police Department, told reporters over the weekend that Pitt's killing was connected to the shooting of the two paralegals.

Arizona police are on the hunt Saturday for a suspect believed to have gunned down an Arizona forensic psychiatrist who helped prosecutors with investigations in the high-profile 1996 killing of JonBenet Ramsey. He was found shot dead in Phoenix on May 31 after witnesses heard a loud argument and gunshots, officials said. The 6-year-old's parents became suspects in her death, which had been dramatized in movies and documentaries. It shows a white man wearing a dark hat. Both women worked as paralegals.

"Taking the lives of innocent people", Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams said, "should never make any sense". She was not in the office on the day of the shooting. She was taken to a hospital where she died.

Police on Monday also confirmed that evidence linked a fourth murder to the series.

Marshall Levine, a psychologist, was found shot Saturday as well.

Authorities offered nothing public about the man's possible motives, but they planned to discuss the case in more detail at a news conference scheduled for later Monday. They released a sketch of the suspect.

Police say the suspect wanted in several homicides in the Phoenix area has killed himself. We are also not the only ones grieving. He had been shot and was found in his office by an acquaintance.

The lack of answers in the investigation left many legal and mental-health professionals with a sense of unease as they prepared for the workweek. They were found Monday morning at a house in Fountain Hills.

Since police hadn't named a suspect, no one knew who else might be a target.

Meanwhile, police were able to get a DNA sample from one of the shell casings at Pitt's murder scene.
