Putin tips Russian Federation sanctions to be lifted

Deputy Prime Minister Hans-Christian Strache, leader of the Freedom Party, went as far as to agree to a "cooperation pact" with Mr. Putin's United Russia party.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview broadcast on Monday, said he did not want to divide the European Union as he prepared to visit Austria in his first bilateral trip to a West European country in nearly a year.

"Ask the (U.S.) Department of State why he does it", Putin said.

More surprisingly, Putin said that he deploys informal terms when talking to Emmanuel Macron, despite what must have been several tense conversations over sanctions and Syria in the past year.

Putin noted that all Russian plans and projects in Kurdistan are legitimate, emphasizing that such relations do not intend to create conflicts but aim at developing ties with Iraq and all its components, including the Kurdistan Region.

"We are living in the conditions of relative global peace after World War II".

In response to a question calling on him to enact sanctions against Latvia for allegedly mistreating ethnic Russians there, Putin said he wanted to resolve the situation with talks and not with any measures that would make matters worse.

The project has been highly contentious among European Union member states due to the fact that it skirts Ukraine and Poland en route to the European Union and because of what members see as a risky dependence on gas from Russian Federation.

"Everyone's is already thinking about creating new universal currencies or about switching to transactions using national currencies", Putin said, adding that the US' policy is "counterproductive" and tantamount to shooting oneself in the foot. Vienna also declined to expel Russian diplomats over Moscow's supposed involvement in the Skripal poisoning.

"If a military agent would have been used against these people, these people would die on the spot within seconds or minutes", the president said. "That means we are dealing with something different".

Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found unconscious in March on a bench at a shopping center in Salisbury.

He also added that until Russian Federation is allowed to take part in the investigation and is allowed access to Skripals, it is hard for Moscow to comment on this matter. Putin said the world needed a new worldwide security framework. "This is the new super-powerful ballistic missile Sarmat".

Putin has variously denied Russian meddling and said that "patriotically minded" hackers may have been involved separately from the Russian government. "We apparently influenced the election of the USA president, and then he gifted us Europe". This is a complete nonsense.

"We have continued our cooperation even during hard times", Kurz said after talks with Putin.
