Battlefield 5 Battle Royale will be going up against Call of Duty Black Ops 4's Blackout mode as well as Fortnite and PUBG this year.

Treyarch, developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 announced their battle royale mode, named Blackout, back at the game's reveal event in May. It makes it hard to choose which game to purchase and dedicate your time to if you're low on cash, that's for sure, but which one do you really want to end up playing? "We'll bring you an experience that you haven't played before - in 'Battlefield, ' or anywhere else". There are scant details on what that means for us, but DICE developers may very well likely tell us more about what's coming tomorrow. Instead, it's said to arrive some time after launch as part of EA's plans for ongoing support of the game via downloadable updates. Battlefield V changes that up in a big way with a new focus on resource scarcity.

Previously, EA teased the presence of a battle royale mode in Battlefield V. But this isn't like all of the previous WWII shooters you've ever played.

DICE's Oskar Gabrielson and Lars Gustavsson unveiled the news and revealed that Battlefield Battle Royale will feature destructible environments.
