Nabil Fekir has passed his Liverpool medical and will become the Reds' latest signing, according to French FA president Noel Le Graet.

On Saturday it was reported by the Telegraph that Liverpool had hesitated on completing the move due to a hitch in the player's medical, possibly due to a serious knee injury Fekir sustained three years ago.

The Mirror report that talks are set to resume after the World Cup, despite Lyon today putting out a statement saying that negotiations had been halted with Liverpool over any potential deal.

"It's under negotiation, I think it will be done".

Although Fekir's playing style can be compared to Southampton's Sofiane Boufal, the Frenchman is way more accurate and efficient when it comes to his dribbling and overall ball distribution in the final third. And if Liverpool can get the price tag right that suits them, then it will happen.

The Reds are looking to build a team capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season after their fifth-placed finish this term.

"He did things that nobody had been doing on the field".

"The club is disappointed that Le Progres didn't go to the effort of contacting us before publishing this false information, which creates confusion on the day the club is publishing its annual figures".

Liverpool have already made some strong strides in the transfer market this summer, having recruited Fabinho from Monaco on top of the pre-agreed arrival of Naby Keita, and securing Fekir ahead of the World Cup would continue their excellent business.

Looks like Liverpool are an early contender for being involved in the most dramatic transfer saga of the summer.

Olympique Lyonnais have put an end to negotiations with Liverpool for the proposed transfer of Nabil Fekir. He'd even conducted an interview with the club's in-house tv channel, seemingly explaining the leaked photo of him which did the rounds on Friday.
