He was received by Singapore's Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.

Daily NK, a South Korean website focusing on North Korea news, reported in 2015 that "the restrooms are not only in Kim Jong Un's personal train but whatever small or midsize cars he is traveling with and even in special vehicles that are designed for mountainous terrain or snow".

Kim is meeting Trump on Tuesday for a historic summit aimed at discussing the future of his nuclear program.

"No president has ever put America in a position where the North Korean leadership thought that this was truly possible".

At a press conference earlier on Sunday, Loong said that the summit cost approximately $20 million, which is a price the Singapore was "willing to pay".

Just hours before what could be the most important meeting of his life, a seemingly relaxed and confident Kim Jong Un took a night on the town in Singapore, taking selfies and being greeted by cheering onlookers.

"The way the summit goes in Singapore could set the stage for the next period of Northeast Asian regional security", said Eric Altbach, vice president of the Albright Stonebridge Group in Washington, who also represented the National Security Council in sanctions discussions with North Korea during the Bush administration.

The US President is reportedly spending a bit more time with PM Lee today - two hours of talks and a working lunch together with government officials from respective countries, according to Channel NewsAsia. Kim can expect things like hand-cut crystal chandeliers, hand-painted chinoiserie silk wallpapers, 600-threadcount bed linens, paintings by Marc Chagall, a baby grand piano, separate living and dining rooms, an office, gym, and, of course, the hotel's renowned (among rich people) butler service.

In the run-up to the talks in Singapore, Trump had optimistically predicted the two men could strike a nuclear deal or forge a formal end to the Korean War in the course of a single meeting or over several days.

It will certainly be an exciting day and I know that Kim Jong-un will work very hard to do something that has rarely been done before ...

He has also dined with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in NY. "We were able to complete the preparations for the historic summit, and I would like to thank you for that", Kim, speaking through an interpreter, told Lee.

Besides, Singapore's prime minister "wished Chairman Kim success for the US-DPRK Summit and expressed hope that the US-DPRK meeting will advance the prospects for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the larger region". His leading role may signify the Korea-centric view that North Korea takes of these interactions.

Larry Kudlow, Trump's economic adviser, said Sunday on CNN that Trudeau's criticism had damaged Trump's prestige before the summit - and that's why Trump reacted so strongly.

But last month, Trump abruptly cancelled the Singapore summit, citing the "tremendous anger and open hostility" by Pyongyang.

Sentosa, where the meeting between Trump and Kim will be held, is a former British military fort and now, a tourist attraction with a Universal Studio theme park. But Trump has lashed out at reporters for suggesting that the meeting with Kim will result in him giving up any negotiating leverage.
