Monday's flare-up was the first instance of rocket fire along the border in two weeks, breaking an implicit ceasefire that followed a sudden conflagration in late May.

The military says its drones have been able to shoot down more than 90 per cent of the kites and flaming balloons, and that it will continue targeting them.

Today, the IDF air force attacked the observation post of Hamas, near which was organized by the point of launch of the bomb balloons and kites to Israel.

The Israel Democracy Institute, a liberal think-tank, said the bill s ambiguous wording could prevent anyone besides the army from documenting soldiers, and expose Israeli soldiers to legal proceedings in worldwide forums.

"The strike was in response to the series of arson and explosive kites and balloons that have been launched into Israel", the IDF said in a statement also posted on Twitter.

On Sunday, the IDF targeted a cell and vehicle in the Gaza Strip used for launching the incendiary devices, after several such attacks earlier in the day were said to have sparked a number of blazes that ravaged fields, nature reserves and nearly reached a military outpost.

It is worth mentioning that Israeli soldiers have killed 128 Palestinians, and injured approximately 15000 others, since the " Return March" nonviolent protests started on the Gaza Strip, on Palestinian Land Day on March 30.

"The alternative to kite terror is war", one official told Hadashot news on Sunday. Damage has been estimated so far at about 1,235 acres of wheat, avocado orchards, jojoba and agricultural equipment, at a cost of about £1.5 ($2 million).

Night in the area of al-Shagaya, East of Gaza city destroyed the auto of the leader of one group of arsonists.

The Israeli military says it is defending a sovereign border and accuses Hamas of using the protests as cover for attempts to breach the border fence and attack Israeli soldiers and civilians. "The Hamas terror organization is responsible for everything that happens in and from the Gaza Strip, and it will suffer the consequences".
