If history is any indication, there's a chance these systems won't fare well in the long term especially if you drop the phone while clicking a selfie which does happen a lot.

But that's not all, as both the Oppo Find X and Vivo Nex also boast novelty pop-up cameras, helping to add to their futuristic look and feel.

Oppo's new Find X is unlike anything you've ever seen.

It said that the 3D structured light module in Find X can project 15,000 dots, building a precise and complete 3D module of a user's face, and then compares with the registered face of the owner to unlock.

Phones like the LG G7 ThinQ, OnePlus 6, Lenovo Z5, and Huawei P20 Pro have all embraced the notch design popularized by the iPhone X. By clipping out a little screen at the top, designers can push the panel all the way to the edge and still fit the front-facing camera. Secondly, it has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 per cent, meaning it's yet another almost bezel-less phone.

This feature on the Find X gives it an edge over other phones with traditional camera placement. There are no visible openings around the display, Oppo says, while the body-color buttons are slimline metal slivers. Underneath its elegant glass body sits Qualcomm's high-end Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with massive 8GB of RAM and 256GB onboard storage.

The cameras are nothing to be sneezed at either with a 25MP sensor in the front and dual camera setup incorporating a 16MP and 20MP sensors on the rear. The price for this special edition phone will be 1,699 euros when it launches in Europe in August.

As of now, there is no information regarding the Find X's launch in India, but Oppo India recently teased the launch of the phone that sort of hints that the phone will most likely make its way to the Indian shores. The Oppo Find X comes with a USB Type-C port but lacks a dedicated headphone jack.

Atop Android 8.1 Oreo, Oppo has loaded the latest version of its custom interface, ColorOS 5.1. The Find X's Smart Selfie Capture function will analyse the 3D model of your face to look at your face shape and features so it can provide feedback so you can up your selfie game.

What do you think of the Oppo Find X's design? Along with this, the smartphone also sports a slider mechanism which hides the cameras of the device. The phone has a huge battery of 3,730mAh and a 6.42-inch AMOLED display. For the front, it features a 25-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. As per Oppo, the sliding mechanism was tested to 300,000 slides the average person unlocks their phone 100-150 times a day. The SIM card tray is also located on the bottom of the device along with the speaker, while volume left and right buttons are located on the left side of the frame, and the power button is located on the right.
