Trump Mocks Warren, Tester and #MeToo, but Praises Putin at Montana Rally

Trump rallied in Great Falls to boost the candidacy of Tester's Republican challenger, state Auditor Matt Rosendale, who is seeking to deny Tester a third term and give Montana an all-Republican congressional delegation.

Hegle said he voted for Tester in past elections but was undecided this time. Trump's speech was, like most of his addresses, a remarkable mix of stream-of-consciousness thinking, fact-challenged claims and demagoguery.

"But we have to do it gently because we are in the #MeToo generation", Trump said, in reference to women speaking out about sexual harassment.

"I have a feeling she will say no", he added.

Warren was far from the only Democrat who drew Trump's acidic rhetoric on Thursday, though. The president blamed Tester for the failed nomination of Dr. Ronny L. Jackson as head of the Veterans Affairs Department because he raised concerns about Jackson's professional conduct.

Here's what he said about Elizabeth Warren in a GOP campaign rally in Great Falls, Montana last night. Tester is one of ten Democrats up for re-election this year in states Trump won.

Ultimately, the crowd chanted, "Build the wall", after Trump told the audience his promised wall along the U.S. -Mexico border is now under construction in some areas.

Tester's ad, which ran in the Great Falls Tribune and in newspapers across rural northern and eastern Montana, sought to undermine the president's efforts to boost Rosendale by pointing out that he and the president agree on several issues. "You deserve a senator who doesn't just talk like he is from Montana, you deserve a senator who actually votes like he is from Montana".

But the free-wheeling speech largely focused more on a laundry list of Trump's favorite rally topics during another summer campaign event in a state that went heavily for him in 2016.

The president criticized Tester's voting record, which included opposition to the Republican tax overhaul and Trump's judicial nominees, a critique later offset by his praise of "landmark" veterans legislation that Tester pushed for. "Totally prepared", the president said. Trump's message would influence his decision, he said. Not a blemish, ' Trump said. He has also dismissed the special counsel's investigation into potential Russian collusion with Trump's campaign as a "witch hunt" meant to delegitimize his presidency.

Trump vowed he'll be prepared for the July 16 summit in Finland.

'When the fake news starting saying, 'Oh why isn't Trump giving the physical! Why. So I sort of feel guilty about this whole thing, ' Trump shared.
