NFL Supplemental Draft takes place Wednesday

He told that he has been working on his maturity and growing up over the previous year. He was declared ineligible for his senior season at Miami. The Dallas Cowboys have done it five times and the San Diego Chargers three but no other team has made more than two Supplemental Draft picks.

At least two national experts don't expect the Lions to participate in the draft.

The NFL will conduct their annual supplemental draft on Wednesday, July 11 and according to analyst Dane Brugler, Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey may draft Western Michigan cornerback Sam Beal.

There are three players available as free agents following the 2018 National Football League supplemental draft, including safety Brandon Bryant of Mississippi State. This combination of awareness and raw athleticism makes Beal an ideal prospect to be joining a team so late in the summer, more than ready for the rigors of training camp.

If the Buccaneers or any team selects a player in this year's Supplemental Draft, it will happen quietly.

Teams then can make anonymous bids on players based on how high a draft pick they're willing to give up. For some teams, his academic and off-field issues have made him a player on whom they'll pass.

Alexander becomes the Redskins' first supplemental pick since they used a third-round choice on defensive lineman Jeremy Jarmon in 2009. In the last five years, we've only seen one player, former Clemson tackle Isaiah Battle, selected and it was in 2015 to the then-St.

The Bucs' Supplemental Draft drought is not particularly unusual; the teams in their own division have been just as quiet, for instance. A good athlete, Beal does have some flaws. He gives NY a strong third option behind Janoris Jenkins and Eli Apple. The Browns had the fourth pick in each round behind the Raiders, Jets, and Giants.

Beal is 6-foot-1, giving the Giants a tall rookie corner, although at 177 pounds he is not considered to be especially physical and needs to gain weight and strength.

In the sixth round, the Redskins selected Virginia Tech defensive back Adonis Alexander, meaning the Browns did not bid on him in that round, even though they expressed some interest.

- Scouting report: A two-year starter at Western Michigan, Beal possess the ideal body type for a perimeter corner in today's NFL. If they had to use a second round pick to claim Beal in the supplemental draft, they would still have a pick in every early round to work with next spring.

He was clocked at 4.47 in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. The third group has all the teams that did make the playoffs. Bryant played safety at Mississippi State. Watching him on film, I think he has tools to develop into a starting safety if he gets a bit better with his eyes.

Is it worth the risk to take such a player who has been more than troublesome for his college team? That turn of events angered several other teams and directly led to a change in the way the Supplemental Draft is conducted.
