Comey: Vote for Democrats in midterm elections

Former FBI Director James Comey expressed outrage with President Donald Trump on Monday, saying he had taken the side of Russian President Vladimir Putin over his own country and calling on people to stand up against him. Those of us who find Comey a rich source of unintended humor - here he speaks in the name of History, like Hegel and like the great Obama himself - may harbor the guilty thought that Comey invokes Alexander Hamilton and James Madison in the spirit of Aaron Burr.

This Republican Congress has proven incapable of fulfilling the Founders' design that "Ambition must ... counteract ambition". Speaking next to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump repeatedly rejected the conclusions of the USA intelligence agencies and failed to publicly condemn Russia for allegedly meddling in the 2016 election. "All who believe in this country's values must vote for Democrats this fall".

Before Trump took office, the U.S. intelligence community released a report asserting that Russian Federation had sought to boost Trump in the 2016 election and that Putin had ordered the effort.

The former Federal Bureau of Investigation director recently said he no longer considers himself a Republican, citing the party's inaction in confronting Trump on his "falsehoods" in interviews, including with CBC News to promote his book A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership.

Comey's tweet came just a day after he made two tweets attacking President Donald Trump.

"They said they think it's Russia", Trump said of his intelligence officials. I will say this: "I don't see any reason why it would be, but I really do want to see the server".

During that tour, Comey declared the Republican Party "left me" and stated he no longer wanted to be associated with the GOP. It's transactional, it's ego-driven, it's in service to his ego.
