Benjamin was a first-round pick by the Panthers in 2014 and played in 40 career games with them, catching 184 passes for 2,424 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Kelvin Benjamin made some strong comments last weekend about the Carolina Panthers and their quarterback, Cam Newton.

Remember. the Bills wideout blasted Cam in the media this week - essentially blaming Newton for all of his struggles in Carolina the past few years.

Benjamin, who said he would have been more successful if he was drafted by Carolina and had a "quarterback with knowledge", brushed the encounter aside after Carolina won the preseason meeting 28-23.

"Moving on from it", Benjamin said repeatedly.

Much of the discussion was inaudible from the video, but Newton did follow an agitated Benjamin as he attempted to walk away from the Panthers quarterback.

Benjamin's comments with The Athletic brought the conflict into the spotlight. We have a lot of respect for our opponents, No. 1, and everyone in the league.

Panthers tight end Greg Olsen called Benjamin's barbs "weird", adding Sunday (via Panthers.com): "Things didn't work out here for him". I don't know, man ... Coming off a 9-8 straight up and 9-6-2 against the spread season, the Buffalo Bills open the 2018 preseason with a full-fledged quarterback battle.
