During the call, which occurred after Manigault Newman was sacked from the White House last December, Mrs. Trump offered her a $15,000-a-month position as a campaign surrogate.

Trump's desire to "lock her up", so to speak, appears to be a reaction what what the president considers to be a "personal betrayal", a former West Wing official told Sherman.

Newman did not offer any concrete evidence in her book to back up her claims.

"It sounds a little like, obviously, that there are some things you've got in the back pocket to pull out", Lara Trump is heard saying. "Should you pursue litigation against S&S, we are confident that documents related to the contents of the Book in the possession of President Trump, his family members, his businesses, the Trump Campaign, and his administration will prove particularly relevant to our defense".

Trump then proposes the hefty compensation.

Manigault Newman also claims Trump said he would soon get rid of DeVos.

Trump, a senior adviser on the president's 2020 campaign and the wife of his son Eric Trump, went on to outline a loosely defined role on her staff. "Because they know it's true".

Manigault Newman interrupts her to respond, "Oh, God no".

The former reality star shared four excerpts from a recorded conversation with Trump's daughter-in-law on MSNBC.

Federal election filings support allegations that such payments were made, ABC News reports, but they do not indicate whether the money was related to any signed nondisclosure agreements.

She already released a few of the tapes she has, like the ones in which Chief of Staff John Kelly fired her and when she called Trump to learn he had no clue about it.

The series will also feature Arnold meeting with Mark Burnett, executive producer of "The Apprentice", Ari Emmanuel, American Media CEO David Pecker and Mr. Trump's former business associate Felix Sater in addition to several investigative journalists. "Every single time he said something, at first I thought, 'Is he doing this intentionally?'" she said. "So, no matter what efforts I put out, people didn't want to see that type of residual outreach".

The president on Thursday tweeted: "Thank you for the kind words, Omarosa" in a post that included the link to a video, released by the Republican National Committee, that is a compilation of broadcast interviews in which Manigault Newman makes positive comments about Trump.

Her stash of recordings, which she is soon releasing in her new book "Unhinged", includes a condolence call she received from the couple the day after she was sacked by chief of staff John Kelly last December.
