Rapper Mac Miller Found Dead In Suspected Overdose

According to the outlet, the rapper was found Friday (Sept. 7) at his San Fernando Valley home and pronounced dead the scene.

TMZ reports authorities were alerted by one of Miller's male friends, who called 911 from the rapper's home.

Growing up in Pennsylvania, Miller began releasing rap mixtapes from the age of 15, and he held on to that independent and self-driven ethos throughout his career.

Fellow Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa and other sent their thoughts to Miller and his family shortly after the news broke Friday.

Miller, whose real name is Malcolm McCormick, had faced a continued battle with drug addiction and was recently charged with two counts of DUI stemming from a vehicle accident in May in the San Fernando Valley.

Mac Miller and Ariana Grande were together from August 2016 until May 2018. His first studio album, "Blue Slide Park", was released in 2011.

Reps for Miller did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
