Browns to sign Greg Joseph to replace Zane Gonzalez

Unfortunately, the Cleveland Browns are finding new ways to lose.

The Browns (0-1-1) host the New York Jets (1-1) on Thursday.

Sure, this team is 1-31-1 during head coach Hue Jackson's tenure. We need somebody - he has a strong leg obviously too. "Obviously we've got to find a guy who can put the ball through the uprights". Joseph spent five years at the school after red-shirting his freshman year.

Carlos Hyde extended their lead with a one-yard touchdown run but the agony began as Gonzalez, who had missed an earlier field goal, pushed his extra point attempt wide. Joseph was waived by the Dolphins during final roster cuts.

The move comes after the Browns reportedly chose to part ways with Zane Gonzalez, who missed two field-goal attempts in the team's 21-18 loss to the Saints on Sunday, including a potential tying field goal. During the preseason, he connected on all three field goal attempts and both extra point tries. Gonzalez never appeared on the team's injury report and it is unclear if Gonzalez kept the injury to himself.

Given the fact the game was in a dome, the crucial nature of the late kicks, and the Browns' thirst for a first win since 2016, it was one of the most maddening games for a kicker in Browns history.

The social media manager at Clevelanddotcom is certainly well aware that Twitter is one of the most brutal places for criticism and nasty comments, so asking for messages to Gonzalez at this point is like asking to receive a death threat.
