Graham open to having Kavanaugh accuser go before committee

Supreme Court nominee and accused attempted rapist Brett Kavanaugh has just issued a second statement denying he sexually assaulted and attempted to rape a then-15 year old girl when both were in high school.

"Anyone who comes forward as Dr. Ford has deserves to be heard, so I will continue working on a way to hear her out in an appropriate, precedented and respectful manner", Grassley said.

Ford said in the interview with the newspaper that Kavanaugh threw her down on a bed, grinding his body against hers and trying to pull off her one-piece bathing suit and the clothing she was wearing over it. Ford said that when she tried to scream, he put his hand over her mouth.

Kavanaugh has vigorously denied the allegations, saying they are "completely false".

He added: "I have never done anything like what the accuser describes, to her or to anyone".

All 10 Democrats on the Judiciary Committee wrote a letter to Grassley on Monday calling for a delay in Thursday's committee vote while the FBI fully investigates the allegations as part of its review of Kavanaugh's background. Flake went as far as to say he was "not comfortable" voting for Kavanaugh for the time being.

Feinstein issued a statement on Sunday afternoon in support of Ford and calling for the FBI to investigate the matter before the Senate advances Kavanaugh's nomination.
