That's right... she crashes into a Blockbuster and that alone makes me a little emotional, not gonna lie.

The teaser for "Captain Marvel", which debuted on "Good Morning America" Tuesday, gave viewers an action-packed look at Brie Larson in the title role.

Of course, with the trailer's emphasis on female empowerment, several Marvel fans took to Twitter to express how excited they were for this huge step forward in the MCU, and how important it is to see female heroes represented on the big screen. However, in the voiceover, he reveals he was this close from making a decision that would have altered the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: "Truth be told, I was ready to hang it up, until I met you today". With a narration provided by Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, we're informed that she's a "renegade soldier", and given what we know about Carol's association with the Kree Military - in particular the unit known as Starforce - it's likely that she's broken ties with them to return to Earth, and even likelier that it has something to do with her apparent amnesia. Marvel fans might know that the Kree and Skrulls, a shapeshifting alien race, are mortal enemies and their conflict figures into the film based on the trailer. That means when confronted they can pull out jagged teeth, insane tentacles, and more, and Chewie's done all of that and more to defend Captain Marvel.

Also featured in the trailer was a glimpse of Carol's best friend and fellow Air Force pilot, Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch, Still-Starcrossed), whose daughter Monica goes on to become the second Captain Marvel in the comics. She gains superhuman strength when her DNA is fused with an alien's following an accident, but she doesn't remember her life on Earth prior to gaining her Captain Marvel powers. What are you looking forward to?
