With a second open-world multiplayer game to support now, fans may wonder if GTA Online's updates will slow down, but Rockstar assures this won't be the case.

Rockstar says the "initial" launch will be a beta and players should expect some instability and issues in the early days.

Imran Sarwar: Of course. Players will be able explore alone or easily join with friends or other players to compete or work together. It's not known whether or not this will qualify as Red Dead 2's Photo Mode. Like GTA Online, it uses the same open world and mechanics of the main game.

Although they didn't refer to it as a beta at the time, GTA Online was the same and access will be free to anyone with a copy of Red Dead Redemption II on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 (there's still no sign of a PC version).

Red Dead Redemption 2 has started to receive a lot more coverage after the press embargo was lifted today. Contrarily, Red Dead Redemption 2 will offer players the option to switch perspectives at launch. They explain how they feel they have found the way to "combine personality, gameplay, style, narrative, and variety" into their online content. We'll find out for sure in November.

Digital Foundry reports that the engine is using more sophisticated techniques to render in-game characters and effects, meaning that players, in the end, are going to get a better overall gameplay experience.

IGN: Aside from the obvious - the 21st-century setting/vehicles/tech/etc - how will this experience be different from Grand Theft Auto Online? Grand Theft Auto Online launched in 2013 a month after Grand Theft Auto V, and Red Dead Online is continuing this trend of launching after the base game.

IGN recently went hands-on with the game. "This should feel intimate and personal while still feeling fun and action-packed from moment to moment".

Grand Theft Auto V was a massive success, primarily due to the ongoing revenue developer Rockstar Games reaps from the game's GTA Online mode.
