Multiple victims during shooting in Maryland county, sheriff says

The sheriff's office identified the suspected assailant as a 26-year-old woman.

A woman who shot dead three people at a Rite Aid distribution center in Maryland was a disgruntled employee working there temporarily, authorities said.

Investigators believe all the victims were fellow Rite Aid employees, but it was not immediately clear whether any were specifically targeted by the suspect, Gahler said.

ABERDEEN, Md. - Police have confirmed that multiple people have been injured in a what the Federal Bureau of Investigation is calling an active shooting situation in Aberdeen, MD.

There has been a shooting in Aberdeen, Maryland, at a business along the 1500 block of Perryman Road, close to Spesutia Road, according to scanner traffic.

Gahler did not confirm the numbers of fatalities.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said earlier his office was "closely monitoring" the incident, posting on his official Twitter page that "the State stands ready to offer any support" as the situation unfolded.

Gahler said she went home at one point and returned later with a handgun, pepper spray and a pair of handcuffs.

The incident occurred at a Rite Aid distribution center. None of the responding officers fired a shot, he said.

The woman who shot and killed three people at a warehouse in the USA state of Maryland had been employed at the business for less than two weeks. Gahler said multiple people were killed, but did not specify the number of victims in the shooting near Aberdeen. Md.

Henderson said products are received from manufacturers at the Rite Aid center in Harford County and sent to stores across the country.

After going outside, she pulls a hooded shirt over her head, and opens fire.

The shooting took place a few miles from the Aberdeen Proving Ground, a large Army facility where military technology is developed and tested, according to Harford County's website.

"I, of course, thought it was far off or, that's like down the road or something, right?" she told CNN affiliate WJZ.

The attack comes almost three months after a gunman shot dead five staff members of The Capital Gazette, in Annapolis, Md., 59 miles from the Rite Aid distribution center.

The shooting in Harford County comes just one day after a shooting at a software company in Middleton, Wisconsin, that left four people injured.
