McGhee Tyson impacted by grounded Delta flights

In a press release made at 8:28 p.m., Delta said its IT teams are working diligently to solve the issue.

Delta Air Lines says it has restarted flights after a ground stop due to a "technology issue". Paul International Airport for about 40 minutes.

Passengers are complaining on Delta's Twitter page, saying they can not sign in or access their boarding pass on the app.

The issue was noticed by customers around 6:50 p.m. Customers started to tweet Delta's official Twitter account asking about the problem.

"During the technology issue, Delta issued a mainline groundstop in the US until systems could be brought back up. We apologize to all customers for this inconvenience", the statement said. "I suggest you reach back again in about an hour when our system should be back up and we will be able to assist you", read another.

Representatives for the airline, which serves more than 180 million customers each year, didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on the issue's cause.
