The CW finally unmasked the first image of Ruby Rose in her Batwoman supersuit, and she looks perfectly suited for the role. It's pretty chic, which isn't surprising considering it's been designed by Oscar victor Colleen Atwood.

Rose will portray Batwoman first in this year's Arrowverse crossover before going on to headline her own Batwoman pilot. But now, we actually have an official look at her in costume, and the title of the CW's best superhero look might just have a new owner. Along with the her lesbian identity, The Hollywood Reporter points out, Kate Kane comes "armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind".

There's also a solo show in development for Rose's Batwoman for the 2019-20 television season. "I feel like the reason I get so emotional, growing up watching TV, I never saw somebody on TV that I could identify with, let alone a superhero", she said.

"Whenever you're bringing change about in any form, there are always conversations that happen".

"[Ruby] is terrific in the role", Berlanti continued, "and we're excited for people to see the story". "The 'Elseworlds" crossover will see The Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl heading towards Gotham City and teaming up with Batwoman after some mad science at the Arkham Asylum grab the attention of the heroes from throughout the multiverse.

In the photo, Rose rocks Kate Kane's signature red locks and channels her inner badass as she slips into the black-and-red Batwoman caped catsuit, featuring the bat insignia emblazoned on her chest, as she stands atop a roof against the backdrop of the evening night.
