Ariana Grande, Pete Davidson split, engagement called off, TMZ reports

According to TMZ, the couple ended their relationship over the weekend, mutually agreeing that it "was not the right time for their relationship to take off".

Pete appeared on Saturday night's episode of Saturday Night Live, which featured former SNL star Seth Myers.

Meanwhile, Davidson bought an engagement ring worth $100,000 for Grande.

The celebrity couple has split and called off the engagement, sources told TMZ. The two quickly confirmed this, thanks to helpful Instagram photos, such as the one where they posed wearing "Harry Potter" robes.

The comedian and his new love went Instagram official and posted a cute snap of themselves dressed up as characters from Harry Potter. Though many fans were surprised by the breakup, there have been a few signs that have indicated that their relationship was on the rocks.

He went on to say: "But like in ten years if God forbid that ever happened, there will be a song called 'Pete Davidson" like playing in speakers at K-Mart and I'll be working there'.

Davidson's reps did not immediately respond to EW's requests for confirmation.

Reps for Davidson and Grande did not respond to Fox News' requests for comment. She realised she needs a grown-up who can support her and that's not him.

"Pete did everything he could to be there for Ariana, but it was never going to be enough".

The loved-up pair made their first appearance on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards and couldn't keep their hands off each other as photographers snapped away.

TMZ said the couple was last seen together on October 10 and that, although they are done for now, the two aren't completely writing off a possibility of something else in the future.
