Dodgers don't want to waste any time dispatching Brewers

One of those big hits came off the bat of Max Muncy in the sixth inning to give Los Angeles a 2-1 lead, and they then tacked on three more and held on for the victory.

The Brewers managed just eight hits over 13 innings in their 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night, evening the NL Championship Series at 2 games apiece. "I think it was the first time I ever got mobbed out in the outfield". At the time of that writing (October 30, 2017), Dodger relievers allowed 10 of 16 runners inherited from Kershaw in the playoffs to score, a strand rate of 37.5 percent. With fans on their feet, pinch-hitter Travis Shaw struck out with a runner on third to end the inning.

"He's a player that has a history of those types of incidents", Milwaukee slugger Christian Yelich said. "He has the ability to punch guys out". Wade Miley made the start for the Brewers and was pulled after only five pitches. "And a true sign of a major leaguer that lasts and excels is that you have to be able to adapt because eventually physical skills change, the league adjusts to you, and you've got to be able to make adjustments back and kind of learn on the fly". "It's been a battle every single game we've played them so far and we don't expect anything different when we go back".

"There's a bunch of guys we need offence from", Brewers manager Craig Counsell said.

"We're back tied, the series is tied, and we're looking forward to tomorrow", he said. The Dodgers will not see Hill until the World Series or as an emergency reliever in a game seven situation.

The Brewers are 7-2 in their last nine road games.

After Machado's six RBIs in the Dodgers' four-game win over the Atlanta Braves in the Division Series, all seemed set for a joyous first trip to an LCS. "We never count ourselves out".

Kershaw admitted after his last regular-season start that he had considered the possibility of it being his last go-round with the Dodgers, the only organization the 30-year-old left-hander has played for during his pro career.

Don't believe us? Kershaw has registered 12 quality starts (6 IP, 3 ER or fewer) in 22 career postseason opportunities. He allowed one earned run in seven innings in game five.

"I don't know if it was that much, just a little bit better execution maybe", Kershaw said of his repertoire. That knotted up the game, 1-1.

Kershaw pitched in and out of trouble in the third, when the Brewers loaded the bases and scored their lone run. "Eventually it's going to catch up to you".

The Brewers' Curtis Granderson had a pinch-hit RBI double in the ninth inning off Ryan Madson.

No matter the final result of the Dodgers' postseason, Machado will still be highly coveted on the free-agent marketplace.

Yelich, who almost won the NL Triple Crown this season, was hitless in four at-bats.
