Kelly, Bolton reportedly get into White House screaming match

Bolton criticised DHS, and Kelly defended Nielsen, a former deputy whom he supported to replace him at the department.

According to reports, chief of staff John Kelly and national security advisor John Bolton got into it on Thursday. While Bloomberg and CNN sources noted fears of a possible resignation from one of the two men following the fight, the Examiner referenced three sources to say that both men will stay in the White House.

She then slammed Democrats, accusing them of failing to address the issue and pushing an open borders agenda.

Trump on Thursday tweeted that he was prepared to call out the military and even close the border if the "onslaught" is not stopped.

CNN reports that the pair of advisers clashed over a surge in border crossings after the president sided with Bolton.

A third person described the episode as little more than a typical airing of differences between Bolton and Kelly, who has a temper.

Trump, asked about the incident, told reporters: "That I have not heard about".
