With all the phones that have launched in the last few weeks, we'd forgive you if you forgot that Apple launched the iPhone XR alongside the iPhone XS back in September.

The Apple iPhone Xr will be available for pre-order this week, and local stores have unveiled their pricing for the device.

Preorders went live today for the iPhone XR, the new iPhone model that much of the tech cognoscenti believes may end up being Apple's most popular this release cycle.

Apple has marketed the iPhone Xr as the "more affordable" iPhone for 2018.

Still, analysts who track Apple's sales are anticipating the iPhone XR will prove to be a popular option given that it has the same processor as the iPhone XS while offering a big screen and price tag that's $250 less.

The iPhone XR measures 150.90 x 75.70 x 8.30 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 194.00 grams.

The phone is officially shipping on October 26.

"The new iPhone XR has a gorgeous new aerospace-grade aluminium and glass enclosure that has IP67 protection from liquids and dust, long all-day battery life and comes in six handsome finishes".

And finally, there's the iPhone XR. The iPhone XR features 7000-series aerospace-grade aluminium and more durable glass in its construction, and comes with IP 67 rating for dust and water resistance. The 128GB variant will be sold for Rs 81,900, whereas the 256GB variant will retail for Rs 91,900.

The XR has a 6.1inch edge-to-edge LCD display (rather than the more expensive OLED used in the other models) which Apple has called Liquid Retina. There is also the option of no-cost EMI from Bajaj Finserv.

The only difference is how the phones zoom. The iPhone XR lacks a telephoto lens, so it can only achieve 3x digital zoom. On the front, the handset gets a 7-megapixel selfie camera with an improved Portrait mode, f/2.2 aperture, an IR camera, and a diffractive beam splitter.
