The NFL trade deadline is rapidly approaching and rumors continue to suggest that some star players might be on the move.

Schefter also reported that the Cardinals do not plan to trade Peterson, but Peterson wants them to reconsider.

Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson reportedly has requested a trade.

He's logged 7 pass breakups in 7 games, and owns the second-longest play of the year for Denver by scoring on a 53-yard interception return.

New Orleans Saints fans had their usual, peaceful Victory Monday upturned by reports that Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, a former LSU Tigers legend and National Football League all-star, wanted out of the desert.

Patrick Peterson wants out of Arizona. If he were to be dealt, Arizona's secondary would struggle to replace him.

Apparently, the rumors got into Peterson's head as well. They could accumulate draft picks to rebuild the team, but only if they trade away some assets.

Peterson signed a five-year, $70 million extension just before the start of the 2014 season that expires after the 2020 season. The addition of Peterson would surely take their defense over the top and help them out down the stretch.

It will be interesting to see the Cardinals roster over the next week.

New Orleans, Philadelphia and New England all must know that they will have to give up a lot to acquire a talent like Peterson.
