Note that this is the base game, and doesn't include the "Forsaken" expansion which adds a new campaign to the title.

Today, Bungie has announced that the PC version of Destiny 2 will be free to everyone for a limited time. Once you have claimed the gift, open the Battle.net client and click on the Destiny 2 tab to start downloading.

"As Destiny fans, we were excited to learn that the sequel was coming to PC", said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment at the time.

Now that Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are both out, I'm sure Destiny 2's player count is shrinking, and that spells potential losses for any service game. After less than a year on the market, Destiny 2 is now available for the low, low price of $0. If players add the game to their account by then, you'll own the game permanently. Additionally, new Guardians will have the opportunity to try out Destiny 2: Forsaken's new mode "Gambit", from November 9th through 11th 2018, during the Gambit Free Weekend. While its pay-to-win micro-transactions have been removed since launch, it's still tough to recommend due to this odd decision of requiring a purchase of the last two expansions to access this one.
