If you were hoping for Diablo 4, you're going to have to wait a while longer. Blizzard promises that Diablo: Immortal will give fans of the franchise an authentic action-RPG "hack and slash" gameplay experience on smartphones and tablets. Now, with Diablo III having expanded to consoles-including, as of today, Nintendo Switch-Blizzard has its eyes set on what might be its most hard adaptation of the action RPG yet: mobile. After months and months of rumours, speculation, and a bit of expectation dampening from Blizzard itself, Diablo Immortal was officially announced. Players will be able to team up with others in open area locales, but the game will also feature more than a few instanced dungeons.

Titled "Diablo Immortal", the game's background story sets it in the time between its PC counterparts "Diablo II" and "Diablo III". The NetEase mobile exclusive Diablo Immortal that was announced instead was a surprise on all fronts, a Blizzard game targeting non-typical Diablo fans. In order to celebrate this announcement, Blizzard has also released two new trailers that you can find below.

Blizzcon 2018 kicked off in full force a few hours ago with several announcements that cover many high-profile titles like World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo, Warcraft, and Destiny.

With Diablo Immortal, every class gets new abilities that we haven't seen before. According to Blizzard, more playable classes will be added in future updates. As such, multiple players can log in and work together to fight the hordes of demons invading the world of Sanctuary.

It's not. The team says the game is only coming to iOS and Android for now, and it's doubling down on the choice to keep this game mobile.

There's no word yet on a released date or what the cost will be.

Those eager to join the fight are encouraged to visit http://www.diabloimmortal.com to pre-register for special rewards and be among the first to experience Diablo Immortal. These six classes were the only ones that were shown off at BlizzCon.
