Michelle Obama also addressed speculation about her possible White House run, firmly denying them by saying she "never had any serious conversations with anyone about it because it's not something that I'm interested in-or would ever do".

The former First Lady, during her time in the White House, had to be careful about what she said.

In the nine-minute clip above, the former First Lady talks about her new book Becoming, her life with Barack, and the celebrity she now texts with the most (spoiler alert: it's Oprah).

President Obama said he wasn't able to join her, and Sasha begged off too, busy watching TV. And while her calendar may no longer consist of state dinners and ceremonies, it appears that the former First Lady still has lots of friends in high places. "And my staff was calling me, everybody was celebrating, people were crying, and I thought, I want to be in that!"

"When you're in the residence, there's so much bulletproof glass that sometimes you don't hear what's going on outside", she recalled. Instead, the Obamas' eldest daughter Malia made a decision to join.

"It took 15 minutes to get outside".

She had bought new white sneakers to wear on the trip, and within a day, after all the pushing they did, her shoes turned reddish brown, stained with the cinnamon-hued dust of Nairobi. But we just took it in. She also shared that Oprah's BFF Gayle King is also a frequent texter in her life because "Gayle is a worrier", so she'll often check in with Obama to make sure everything is okay. "Laura, I'm sorry. Send me the bill!"
