U.S. President Donald J. Trump wrote on Twitter on November 29 that he will not meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

While Trump cited the seizure by Russian Federation of Ukrainian ships in his tweet, the timing of his former lawyer Michael Cohen's guilty plea led to speculation that it was planned to coincide with the Putin meeting.

The White House on Tuesday warned Xi against trying to wait out Trump in the ongoing talks, suggesting the Chinese economy was not as resilient to a trade war as the USA economy.

In a phone call with Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Trump expressed "deep concern" at the incident, the White House said on Wednesday. Trump is traveling to Argentina to attend the G20 summit. Shortly afterward, however, he announced on his Twitter account that he would be canceling the meeting because of his worries about the conflict between Russian Federation and Ukraine.

Donald Trump has cancelled a planned meeting with Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit of world leaders over rising tensions between Russian Federation and Ukraine.

"I want the Ukrainian soldiers released", she said. His national security advisor, John Bolton, had said the Putin meeting was on the books.

That much-maligned meeting saw Trump forsake the USA intelligence community's conclusions of Russian interference in the 2016 USA election in favor of amplifying Putin's denials.

The statement marked a dramatic U-turn of his attitude hours ago, before leaving for Argentina to attend the Group of 20 (G20) summit, when Trump said he "probably" would meet with Putin.

There here's been a lot of will-they/won't-they about this Trump-Putin meeting over the past few days.

"We are expecting the two presidents to speak briefly at first, but everything is left to the discretion of the heads of state", Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Trump added that he looks forward to a "meaningful summit again as soon as this situation is resolved".

Donald Trump has abruptly cancelled a meeting with Vladimir Putin in a show of disapproval at Russia's treatment of Ukraine. "It is a domestic political situation that matters for Trump for he has been under huge pressure in relation to the Mueller investigation, the midterm election, the issues with Mexico and all that", Bystritsky said.

Russia seized three Ukrainian navy ships and their crews on Sunday near Crimea over what it said was their illegal entry into Russian waters, which Ukraine denies. "I was thinking about it, but they'd like to have it", Trump said.

The Kremlin has warned Ukraine's declaration of martial law in regions that border Russian Federation could re-ignite the fighting in eastern Ukraine.

"If China will come to the table, or in this case the dinner table, with some new ideas and some new attitudes and some new cooperation, as the president said, there is a good possibility they could make a deal", economic adviser Larry Kudlow said this week.

He said leaders of the two countries have agreed on another option.
