The Outer Worlds is the latest sci-fi adventure from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division, with the first trailer dropped during the 2018 Game Awards on Thursday.

After teasing an announcement at the tail-end of November, Obsidian Entertainment came good with The Outer Worlds tonight at this year's Keighleys. The ship flew in the Al, the most distant colony of Earth at the edge of the galaxy, but lost on the way. "In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable", Obsidian wrote.

We'll get you more info on The Outer Worlds as soon as we have it. The trailer showcases the unsafe and whacky world the game is set in, and sets the tone for the game.

It's called The Outer Worlds, it'll be out next year, and it's basically New Vegas in space. The comparisons to Fallout, BioShock, and Borderlands were immediate - but let's be real, it really is just Fallout: New Vegas in space.

From the original creators of Fallout, Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, comes a new single-player RPG we're supremely keen to jump into.

When will The Outer Worlds be released?

While the release date is not exact yet, it will be coming out in 2019.

The Outer Worlds is a singleplayer role-playing game in the truest sense, with a player-driven story, multiple pathways through missions, and skill checks galore.

Players will be able to create their own unique character, but much like Cyberpunk 2077, The Outer Worlds takes place entirely in the first person. Taking the Raptiphobia flaw gives you a debuff when confronting the vicious creatures, but rewards you with an additional character perk immediately.
