In City's maiden FA Cup fixture of the 2018/19 season, Michael Flynn's Sky Bet League 2 side will entertain Premier League opposition for the second time in 12 months.

The four-game festive Premier League programme typically passed with no end of unusual results.

"That's how you have to play against City, in the moment when you get the ball you have to make the best of it". Nine of The Guardian's writers predicted that Leicester would be relegated... and they ended up doing quite a lot better than that.

"Four points clear is still a really good position to be in".

Shaqiri has impressed since his arrival from Stoke City in the summer, scoring key goals including a vital double in the Merseyside club's 3-1 victory over arch-rivals Manchester United last month.

The Merseysiders have only three matches remaining against "big six" opposition - two of those are at home, against Chelsea and Spurs, while they go to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on February 24.

At this stage of the FA Cup last season Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo made plenty of changes to his regular line-up, including leaving the likes of Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Willy Boly completely out of his squad. Michael's Prediction: "Wolves 0-1 Liverpool".

Van Dijk: Liverpool not panicked by Man City and will definitely bounce back

City switch their attention from their pursuit of Premier League leaders Liverpool to domestic cup football in the coming days.

Fernandinho has warned Liverpool the pressure is now on them after Manchester City beat them on Thursday to reignite the title race.

"Look, we haven't won five titles in the last 10 years, so we don't have that experience and we have to win as many games as we can to finish the season well". They've found the net 56 times, compared to 49 from Liverpool.

Kevin De Bruyne is fit again - the Belgian was among the substitutes for this game - and the Belgian's importance to City can not be overstated.

"So, if I was to put my money on one club for the league, it would be Liverpool".

"But what we will do with him now for the game, I don't know". So Liverpool fans and players will always have that monkey on the back.

That isn't to say that they won't make an appearance but Klopp will most likely opt to play the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri in their place.
