Missing Wisconsin girl found alive

Authorities identified the suspect Friday as Jake Thomas Patterson of Gordon, Wisconsin, the same town where Closs was found alive 88 days after she was abducted, authorities told reporters Friday morning.

"I'm going to hug her. Squeeze her", Naiberg said, his voice cracking. The log does not indicate who made the 911 call, but the dispatcher heard yelling in the background.

Jayme spent the night at a hospital, where she was evaluated.

Police arrived to find the door kicked in but no one was there.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office confirmed on its website that Jayme was found in the town of Gordon at 4:43pm on Thursday and a suspect was taken into custody 11 minutes later. Described as "5 feet tall and 100 pounds with strawberry-blond hair and green eyes", Jayme Closs is an 8th grader at Riverview Middle School in Barron. Dalbec says Patterson was arrested based on a description of his vehicle that Jayme was able to provide.

"We want to thank Jayme for being so courageous and for finding her way back to us", she continued, through tears.

Investigators now believe Patterson killed Jayme's parents - James Closs, 56, and Denise Closs, 46 - at their home in October and abducted Jayme, and that it appears he went there with the precise intention of taking the girl, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said.

"To all of you who joined us in keeping Jayme Closs in our thoughts and prayers.tonight our prayers have been answered!"

Elizabeth Smart says it is a "miracle" that a 13-year-old Wisconsin girl missing for almost three months has been found safe. This is what brought her home, all the posters and everything.

Closs vanished on October 15, 2018. She had been found alive. "Jayme has been found!", Kroeze posted. "It's wonderful, the will of that 13-year-old girl to survive and escape - and that comes from the hopes and the prayers of this community", he shared. "The lady that was walking her dog had seen the poster and that's how she knew who Jayme was right away, by her face", Smith said. There was no sign of Jayme inside the home.

Sue Allard, Jayme's aunt, overwhelmed and crying, could barely express her joy after learning the news.

Naiberg says Jayme reported that she'd been held by "a guy in the woods" but was able to escape.

Suddenly, her neighbor came up to her door while walking her dog in the Eau Claire Acres development outside Gordon, Wisconsin. The woman took her to a nearby home owned by Peter Kasinskas.

The 911 audio helped investigators determine that Jayme was in the house at the time of her parents' murders.

A suspect was arrested minutes later and police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with her kidnapping.

A man believed to be connected to the case is now in custody. Fitzgerald said that investigation remains "very fluid and active" and authorities are conducting numerous interviews.

Fitzgerald called it "remarkable" that she was recognized by members of the public, which was the hope of authorities.

Douglas County is just north of Barron County, where Closs lived.
